Open Stage Productions has been devising and performing theatre in education shows and workshops since 1999. They have performed in schools throughout Australia, taking their unique mixture of improvisation and theatresports to students k-12. They are recognized as the leaders and innovators of improvisation for school aged audiences.

By using the basic tools of improvising, making offers, saying yes, advancing and extending, the students learn about narrative, physical space and playing character. The hugely successful show The Demo has been reworked to provide an even greater experience of improvisation and story telling for students. The new show creates more opportunities for student participation. While still focusing on basic improvising and story telling skills, the show incorporates workshop elements and activities allowing for more interaction and exploration of the concepts and ideas of improvising.

The show always actively uses the ideas and suggestions provided by the students ensuring a fresh performance experience each time. Students are encouraged to use and explore their ideas and imaginations in a practical and creative way.

The show is an exciting fusion of the spontaneity of improvisation with the structure of games and scenes and covers areas such as character, status narrative and physical work.
